The Shepard Fairey Print Reference

The Shepard Fairey Print Reference is a nonprofit educational archive documenting every known Shepard Fairey (OBEY Giant) print release — 1004 works and growing. Its mission is to preserve an accurate, openly accessible record of the artist’s print output and to help collectors, researchers, and the public understand each work in context.

How it works

Every record begins with verified source facts — title, date, edition, dimensions, medium, publisher, and original price — which are kept immutable. On top of that factual layer we add an interpretive layer: a plain-language summary, why the work matters, a collector’s perspective, historical context, a controlled set of themes and styles, and connections to related works. This interpretation is generated under strict source-grounding rules and reviewed for accuracy; it never alters or invents source facts.

Affiliation

The archive is operated in affiliation with Global Gauntlet. It is an educational resource, free to use. A limited, curated selection of works is offered for acquisition through our affiliated gallery at gauntlet.gallery, where you’ll also find free data-driven pricing, collector buyer’s guides, and resources on how to spot a fake.
